Where are you from in Venezuela? My ex was from Valencia so I am just curious...

Very interesting post, by the way. Thanks!
^___^ I'm from Mérida, the venezuelan Andes, hehehehe, we're different people from the rest of venezuelans, kind of, LOL!
Thank you for commenting!
omg i totally agree!
like fish is the shit in japan but i cant even smell it without feeling neaseous (no idea how to spell that haha but you should understand)
although a bunch of people in america like fish

but still yeah the difference in foods is really cool!
You know, it's funny, I have a whole dilemma with fish. I can't stand it either in general, but I love sushi. And fresh fish (really fresh fish) doesn't smell at all, so whenever I've eaten it it's got a great taste. I guess it all depends on the quality of it, and the way it's cooked XD

yeah, i have never tried sushi, i have just smelled california rolls that were probley old from arizona. (my science teacher taught us to smell food to make sure it has not expired before eating it, so now i like never eat something that smels bad, haha) but i am going to japan next summer, so im just not gonna try it, and wait until i can eat it in japan, so i get a good impression on it!

Make sure you go to a good sushi bar/restaurant! LOL! I'm sure, just like everywhere else, there are good places to eat and bad places to eat. I've heard combini sushi is good though, because they change it everyday, I don't know if that's true XD.
That california roll was probably old... hahahahaha!!!
Oooo!! you could try eating veggie sushi (no fish), just so you get into the experience before going for the fish in japan... by the way, I'm jealous that you're going XD
haha my dad and i are going and i am a bit worried, considering i do not like japanese food that much. i love rice and steak and chicken, which are things they have in japan, but i heard in tokyo meat other than fish is very expensive. and i guess i sort of like japanese noodles, as long as there is no cabage or anything in them. haha i guess i will just be living off of rice.
LOL! take it as an opportunity to try new things, you might be surprised! You know, there are certain foods that I don't like in my everyday life here, but whenever I've had the luck to travel abroad I've tasted the same things, just cooked differently, and I found that it wasn't the ingredient I didn't like, it was they way it was cooked/presented ^_____^

ha i am soo excited! have you ever been to japan before? my family is american so my parents have never wanted to take me but i am finally gonna go and i am sooo excited!

even though sushi scares me (i have a fear of food prone to food bourne illnesses, like raw foods that can carry salmonella, haha im really paranoid) i am totally gonna try it in japan! if i dont like the taste i could always just drown it in soy or teriyaki sauce.

Ack! *gets salt in the wound* I've never been to japan... TT_TT XD
Well, for what it's worth, I hope you have a great time there!!!! ^___^

hahaha good story about the apple pie. xD

i think you bring up some interesting points. :D Like, isn't tomato technically classified as a fruit? and yet somehow people always make it salty...

and frankly, i think sweet things made with various kinds of peppers would be excellent... especially spicy ones. I love sweet+spicy food though (like they have some kinds of chocolate made with chili pepper? omg so good. *dies*).

me neither, and i dont speak a bit japanese, so it should be interesting, haha. do you speak japanese? thanks :D its japan so i'm sure i will because japan is just amazing!
I think... yes, I'll post about it right now... a cool sweet and hot desert XD.
I'm self-teaching japanese... XD mainly cause I don't have enough money to go to proper classes. This is the life of us penniless freaks. XD XD

haha thats what i'm doing too. because i cant afford them and the fall session doesnt really work with my schedual. but i may take the spring classes, hopefully! what website do you use? i use like learnjapanese.org or something like that, but it is really hard to learn katakana on

No websites, just plain old books and dictionaries, and watching japanese tv helps a lot XD
oh daaang girl your talented!
haha i have to use like 7 different websites, learning to read the katakana and hiragana isnt the hard part, for me the hard part is learning to write it. i suck at writing enlgish romanji because i have horrible hand writing, so it is quite a challenge haha. but it isn't as hard as i originally thought it would be.
