Sat, April 11, 2009 (12:12am EDT)Arashi's Kazunari Ninomiya (25) and actress Mao Inoue (22) will co-star in a drama special on TBS. The story is based on two novels written by professional windsurfer Natsuki Iijima, who died of cancer in 2005.
During Iijima's battle with cancer, he wrote an essay titled "Gan ni Ikasarete," which formed part of the basis for the 2007 film "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara," a biography of Iijima that starred Takao Osawa and Misaki Ito. Around the same time, Iijima penned a novel also titled "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara," as well as a sequel titled "Kamisama ga Kureta Namida." The drama special is based on those two books, which sold more than 450,000 copies combined.
The drama is also being called "Tengoku de Kimi ni Aetara." Ninomiya plays the main character, a psychiatrist working in the counseling room of a cancer treatment center by the beach. While tending to the patients, part of his job involves taking dictation from them when they want to send a letter to a loved one.
Inoue plays the psychiatrist's wife and mother to the couple's twin daughters. Other cast members include Nobuko Miyamoto as a nurse, Yusuke Santamaria as a surgeon, and Naoto Ogata as the owner of a surf shop.
The broadcast date for the drama has not yet been determined.Source: Sponichi Annex

Title: Attack of Adorkable Boy!.
Author: Princess_jime
Rating: AA.
Characters: Inoue Mao, Matsumoto Jun, Suzuki-san and other minor characters.
Classification: Set during the time of Hana Yori Dango Final, the movie.
Spoilers: None.
Warnings: Beware,cuteness ahead!
Summary: Mao-chan tries to concentrate on her work but a surprise visit of Jun-kun, who flirts shamelessly with her, ruins her determination.
Disclaimer: I don't know or own Inoue Mao or Matsumoto Jun, who belong to themselves, any likeness with real life is purely coincidental (although I hope not!). This fanfic was made for fun only, and for people that love this couple.
Note: adorkable is a made up word that combines dork with adorable.
A Photo-shoot set, people are bustling about, doing their jobs, getting everything ready.
In the japanese entertainment industry time is of the out-most importance, like everything else. Not a minute is to be wasted, the flow of quick-paced life goes on and on, leaving the slow behind. The celebrity to be photographed arrives.
Her name is Inoue Mao, lead actress of the soon-to-be-released Hana Yori Dango Final movie. As usual, it is required of her to be ready for all the promotional work, she's a serious girl who takes her job with responsibility after all.
Her manager, Suzuki-san, talks with her while Mao puts her personal belongings down in the make up area. This photoshoot is the last for her role as Makino Tsukushi, a character that has become a part of her for 4 years now, a feat all on its own, given that the popularity of Hana Yori Dango seems insatiable in a land where fads come and go like the flu.
"This is it kiddo, the last of the last magazine spreads, after this there's only the Ebisu Garden Place gig and you're done." Suzuki-san is a very matter-of-fact woman.
Mao began to feel nostalgic all over again, it was a feeling that had been washing over her ever since the movie shooting ended and she had been fighting it back, knowing that if she let it out the tears would start cascading down and she won't be able to stop them. Hanadan was something that will forever hold a special place in her heart. It had been a learning experience in every sense. She reached new highs of professionalism, learned from everyone involved, met wonderful people, met friends for life. And also... the love of her life.
"Yes, this is the last. I'll do my best!" Mao said with a bright smile.
"Now you'll have time to finish your studies and graduate."
"Yeap, I gotta do it now or never, as they say."
"Are you really sure about this break? I've gotten offered a great role for you that-"
"Stop right there, I'm sure, I've said it everyday, I'll say it again, I'm sure."
"Fine fine, you're stubborn for someone so young... and that's a good thing in my book, I'm glad I got to manage your career my girl."
"Thank you Suzuki-san, I like you too."
As they laughed the make up guy began his work. It wasn't a hard task to make this girl look good for the cameras, she was a natural beauty and a little make up went a long way for her, plus, keeping in tune with her public image and the personality of the character she plays he had to keep it simple. The wardrobe woman had all the selected clothes in a rack near ready for quick changing, the lights were ready, and the photographer was checking his cameras for the nth time.
Mao was all set. She went over to her mark and began posing. As the photographer kept shooting he asked for another camera to his assistant, who was ready.
"Isn't she gorgeous?" said a male voice to the assistant while handing him a refreshing drink, it was hot inside the studio. "I'm offering cold beverages to everyone, would you like some?"
The assistant looked around and was startled, only his boss' snap made him concentrate on his work again.
Matsumoto Jun was the cold drink guy. What was a famous Idol doing there acting like a catering employee? the answer was simple to anyone that had been closely related to the hanadan project. It made the assistant wonder though.
When Mao heard that familiar voice she jumped a little, but quickly composed herself. Suzuki-san noticed and looked around for the cause of this. There he was, hopping around like a little elf, handing out drinks. She made her way subtly to him, hoping to once again be able to put the boy at ease when his overflowing feelings took hold of him once more. It was bound to happen. This was making her grow gray hair before her time!
"Jun-kun..." Suzuki-san whispered when she was next to him "what are you doing here?"
"Why I'm here to see my angel of course, do you need to ask?"
"No, not really, I don't know what I was thinking..."
She sighed and settled to keep an eye on him. This is the reason why they had to go through that whole new trouble of making every single person sign that confidentiality contract. But she didn't mind the extra work. Young people should enjoy love, she thought; not that she would ever acknowledge this in front of her bosses. But it was nerve-wrecking when puppy love was a threat to her protege's career, and her boyfriend's huge Idol status.
Jun wasn't a fool though. If it wasn't because he felt completely sure of safety, he wouldn't act this way at all. He of all people was the most careful, the most interested, in keeping this relationship going strong. Nothing was going to stand in the way of this. He was sure. But every once in a while it was better for him to take advantage and be as foolish as he wanted, otherwise it would spill out at the most inconvenient times, as had happened before, and it will make the JE people give him yet another lecture on public image.
It's just that her mere presence made him go crazy.
All his life, he had had a certain picture in his head of what he liked, what he wanted, in a woman; he had lived his love life according to this, until Mao came into it and crashed every notion he had, turning his soul inside out. Their first meeting had been horrible, till this day he couldn't think of it without feeling regret. He had snubbed her arrogantly and it took him a whole year to make her see his good side. And then she said yes. That's when his life went to the point of no return. She changed him in ways she wasn't even aware of yet.
And now the next target was... her cellphone.
Mao could see from the corner of her eyes that Jun was flickering around her handbag, deliberately turning his back her way. What was he doing? she loved it when he acted like a little kid, but it also made her feel a little annoyed at him. It was all part of his charm anyway. She just wasn't able to hate him.
Jun dropped something on the floor, some people turned around and she took advantage of the little commotion to have a good look. It was her cellphone. He better not take more embarrassing pictures of her and send them to his friends and family again. The last time Mao saw his sister she had saved in her phone the dorkiest picture Jun took of a series he spread all over. She had been sleeping standing up and Jun took silly pictures of her and him snickering away beside her, you could even see her drooling in some of them! So embarrassing. Mao had heard that the arashi boys where collecting them. Sho-kun was making DVD presentations and everything. God.
Jun turned around and saw directly into her eyes, smiling while putting his tongue out and scratching his nape. So cute. Mao blushed unconsciously, making Suzuki-san grunt softly while the photographer complemented her on her adorable girl in love look.
Next round of photos demanded a wardrobe change. Mao began to walk behind the screen and Jun took his opportunity.
"Hi there!" he waved at her like a dork.
She couldn't help but smile a little "Hi, I thought you had work to do this morning?"
"Finished early, had some time to kill..." he looked up while pouting.
She bit her lower lip, he really was too cute "I see, well, it was nice seeing you..." she began, she hoped he would take the hint and not feel bad about it later, otherwise she would have to go out of her way to make it up to him, it was great to do things for him, it's just that she really needed to catch up on her studies that night.
"I know you love seeing me. That's why I'll stick to you like glue all day today." he motioned with his hand like it was decided, a done deal.
Mao wasn't sure if that would be a good thing "Umm... I gotta change..." she said while stepping behind the screen with the wardrobe lady.
"Sure sure, go right ahead..." he said while trying to sneak a peek.
"Turn around!"
"What? I'm just standing here!"
She changed quickly while the wardrobe lady smiled to herself, maybe the girl wasn't aware of it, but her whole demeanor had brightened considerably since Matsumoto Jun appeared in the studio, so this was the reason for that confidentiality contract she thought, good, she liked this couple, even without the contract she would not ruin this relationship by leaking it to the gossip media, it was evident for anyone with a brain that these two were good for each other.
Mao emerged with her new outfit and while the make up guy re-touched her lower lip Jun hopped around her.
"Uwa! so cute!" he said while keeping his hands behind his back and leaning towards Mao.
"Eh- Thank you." she managed to mumble while blushing profusely.
"Compose yourself, you don't want to look like the cutest tomato in the pictures... " he half smiled while moving his eyebrows up and down with a sly expression on his face.
"It's your fault" she continued to blush "If you distract me at work, at least take some responsibility for it."
"I will milady, I will. You can bet on it."
"Whatever."
"Now, can I ask you something?"
She sighed "go ahead."
"What did you first like about me?"
"What kind of a question-"
"Just answer, like in one of those psychology tests, don't think about it, just answer, just do it, what was it? now, answer now, now, now."
"Your work ethic."
"Ah. I see." he took the hint, she was too quick to make smart come-backs, it still startled him. It was one of the many things that were great about her.
Mao got back to her mark in front of the camera, the following set of photographs required her to be perky, but getting distracted by her boyfriend always put Mao in a sort of blurry state of mind, it was still mind-blowing for her to have such a great guy in her life; and she still couldn't get the hang of that quality in him that made her look up to him in the work place, he could go from being silly to total concentration in a second and never break from it for as long as it took; she still did her job, but it seemed harder for her than for him. Maybe it was because he's so great, she thought, that he makes everything look easy when in fact she knew it was not, at all.
She also had apprehensions when it came to modeling, acting was her thing, what she loved to do, and although modeling and posing around was kind of the same thing, she still was insecure about it.
"Give me some of that girl in love innocence you displayed earlier." asked the photographer.
"Ah, got it." Mao wasn't exactly sure what he had meant before, and now it was asked of her? what to do?
The man kept hitting the button, but he looked displeased. Mao was starting to get worried, she didn't want to be a hindrance to anyone, she wanted to give her best! Suzuki-san also looked worried... and now they were all locked inside that vicious circle of japanese politeness that Mao hated so much... until he appeared in her line of vision, too behind everyone else to be noticed, but clear to her eyes. Jun was mimicking her posing!
What is he doing? she thought. Was he trying to give her some pointers? telling her how to do this? Jun put his right hand in his waist as his left hand ran through his chest, he was doing a sexy pose that looked too funny. He puckered up his lips imitating Marilyn Monroe no doubt. Oh my God. Mao tried to snuff in the coming laugh attack and managed to barely let out that cute snickering that was music to Jun's ears. She immediately relaxed.
Jun started then to flesh out a series of feminine ultra clichè poses that even included some jumping, and she couldn't help but try to join him, doing some of her own.
Her inner star began to shine again while she was completely unaware of it. The photographer's assistant marveled at how the atmosphere inside the studio could change so much in such a short while, I totally get that confidentiality contract now he thought and laughed to himself.
At the back, suddenly, Jun got serious, he gave Mao that intense look that cut right into her very soul, his eyes were overwhelming at such times, and she blushed.
"Yes, that's it!" said the photographer, delighted.
She now got it. All she needed to do was to think of Jun.
She could think about him for the rest of her life.
*******************************************
After the photoshoot was over, and Mao was changing into her own clothes, washing off the make up, she looked for Jun, who had all of a sudden disappeared, she could barely hear Suzuki-san telling her about the details of the Ebisu Garden Place gig, her attention focused on him.
He was talking with the catering people.
The photographer came by to thank everyone for the hard work, Mao also thanked everyone for a job well done, and they all gave each other a light round of applause and the corresponding bows. It was great working with nice people.
As Mao and Suzuki-san walked out of the studio Jun met them in the parking lot, on the way to the car.
"I'm borrowing my girl, if you don't mind Suzuki-san..."
"Go ahead" she sighed "she doesn't have any other appointments for the day."
"Great!"
"Eh- don't I have a say in this?" Mao asked.
"Nope." He winked at her, crushing all her defenses.
"Remember to stay inconspicuous at all times" Suzuki-san waved at them as she drove away.
"Yes!" they both responded in unison naturally.
Jun now grabbed Mao's hand and gently directed her towards his own car. He was in no hurry, basking in this precious time alone with her, they had so little opportunities like this lately.
Her mind was a blur again, feeling the cool brush of his skin against hers, he was always a degree cooler than her, and her body temperature invariably rose every time she was near him. She wondered if he had noticed that. She felt shy, it was embarrassing.
As if he had heard her thoughts inside his mind, he turned to look at her with gentle loving eyes, making her feel at ease, she smiled that smile that sent shivers down Jun's back, that warmed his heart.
******************************
They arrived at a little park that belonged to the JE corporation building, at the back. Neutral ground, safe from the paparazzi, Jun had had permission to use it ever since the big names gave their relationship the green light.
One of those normal outdoors restaurant tables with tent-like shading had been beautifully set for two. It was a breezy day and the noon heat felt rather nice.
As Mao got closer and examined the food Jun's cellphone rang and he talked.
There was fruit of all kinds. No. Actually, there were all her favorite fruits. Kiwi, watermelon, peaches, brown pears shaped in the form of bunnies, ripe strawberries, blueberries, slices of peeled orange, lichies, the works.
There was tiramisu ice cream and pistachio ice cream in cooling transparent containers.
Her favorite brand of cold green tea.
Perfectly arranged little salads next to two plates with curry and white rice. Also her favorite.
Everything smelled and looked delicious.
Mao was overwhelmed yet again. When Jun did stuff like this she always felt it deeply. She wiped a single tear that was about to come out of the corner of her eye.
"Mao-chan, I'm so sorry, I gotta go work again..." he looked apologetic.
"It's alright." she reassured him while patting his arm playfully.
"I thought I had more time today..." regret leaked in his voice as he grabbed her hands into his.
"It's alright, really, I'm hungry so I'll eat everything and leave you nothing." she winked at him making his heart leap. "say hi to the boys for me, ne."
"Will do, by the way, Aiba-chan is still insisting on you making him the official dog-nanny for hug."
"No way, he'll want to keep my doggy for himself."
Jun laughed "That's his plan, I keep telling him he can't fool you but he won't give up, besides, nino won't accept it, he always says your dog is the ugliest thing he ever saw."
Mao laughed "he better watch his back..." she threatened but failed to sound menacing at all.
"Bye then..." Jun hesitated.
"Bye, go in peace, soldier." Mao gently pushed him.
As Jun briskly walked away Mao's cellphone rang. A new text message. She opened her cell and laughed out loud. Jun had taken silly pictures of himself and put then all over her cellphone settings.
"He's so gonna regret this..." she softly said to herself as her revenge plan of sending all the pictures of him to her friends and family was already a reality in her mind.
The text message read:
Miss you already.
****************************
"JUN!"
Jun was about to open his car when he heard Mao calling him.
As he turned around to look he saw her running towards him.
A wide smile spread all over his dorky looking face as he opened his arms to receive her.
She jumped on him, grabbing his head with both her hands and kissing him passionately.
His knees bent as he supported his body with the car behind him and instinctively held her tight in his arms.
If only moments like this could last forever.
She separated herself from him, smiling profusely, his body reached for her again but she held him at bay.
"Thank you for today. And that was your reward."
"I'm fully charged! Today's gonna be a very productive day!"
"Gambatte ne!"

THE END.
From Tokyograph:
Inoue will of course reprise her role as the tomboy princess. One of the highlights of this year's episode is a sword fighting scene between Anmitsu-hime and a villain, played by movie actor Riki Takeuchi, who last appeared in a television drama in 1999. Asahi Uchida will play a supporting role.
"Anmitsu Hime 2" will air in early January.
